Counseling services are available for those self-pay individuals who either do not have insurance or choose to not use it.
As a courtesy, we will bill your insurance company, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), or responsible party. In the event you have not met your deductible, the full negotiated insurance rate is due at each session until the deductible is satisfied.
Please note: Cornerstone does NOT bill "third parties" in cases of divorce or other legal arrangements. In short, we do not split bills based on your legal agreements. Payment is expected by the party seeking treatment.
Cornerstone works as a preferred “provider” with many insurance panels and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) through various employers, making the cost of obtaining counseling more affordable. It’s always a good idea to see if you need prior insurance authorization for counseling. You can do this by calling the customer information phone number on your insurance card. Please remember, you will always be responsible for any balance on your account not covered by insurance.
EAPs are a benefit available through some employers and insurance companies. Ask your Human Resources department or consult your insurance company to see if you qualify.
Many EAPs will pay for 1-6 sessions of counseling. It is strictly confidential, and no information is released to your employer without your written permission.
Cornerstone contracts with a number of EAPs to provide the first few counseling sessions at no cost to the client. To utilize EAP benefits, you must get approval from the EAP before your first appointment.
